I have to find out the artist who created this painting. It looks like it could be early Renaissance or Medieval. Its a dreary town or market, the center of the picture there are 2 mules carrying 2 bundles of dark cloth, a man with a little basket is following 1 mule with a little stick, like a conductor would have. Directly above him and drawn farther away is a man sitting on a stool working on a piece of blue cloth. to the left of the center is a man behind to large boxes with a wooden cask and other goods on it, hanging above him, across the arched doorway is a stick with bits of meat hanging down. To the left of this merchant you can see through the arched doorway a man in a red cloak teaching behind a podium to 2 other red-cloaked men. There are three windows cut out of the gray building and in the middle one hangs a small birdcage. in the foreground of the painting there is another mule to the left, a brown dog on the brown background, a man with 2 sticks herding sheep and a woman carrying a basket on her head.I hope this description helps anyone who might know something, so please give me a name.|||I think it is The Effects of Good Government by Ambrogio Lorenzetti. I have a pic but its a small one. are the man with sticks and sheep and the lady with the basket on her head on the right with a big wall next to them? Also 10 women in the middle lower half holding hands? if so it is it!
if it is not the same painting it is close enough that it is probably still Ambrosio Lorenzetti but a different version. Check online. Google the name and title and then hit images. It will bring up some close ups for you to compare.|||starry night?|||a picture would help.|||Can you find a picture?
Your description don't help much sorry.|||we really need a picture
i am still trying to find a picture of this painting to see if i can find the author
i give up, iv'e searched through
renaissance township
rennaisssance market
peasant market
and a loads of other crap to try and find the painting that you describe - without a pic its impossible.
best of luck to you - i do know that
starry night is van ghoh,,, the other dude is wrong
and the one other painting suggested on here does not look like your description|||Doesn't sound like a Reniassance painting. I wish I could help but
without seeing it I can't even make an assumption. The style, medium and use of color would give me a better idea of what period and/or artist.
are you quoting this from memory ? If so, you have a very good memory.|||Would have to see the painting, by your description I could only guess. My only clue might be the meat, Hogarth? Or, the birdcage and the red cloaks and merchants, might it be Dutch? |||MAY BE ANNONIMOUS
