What do I wear to an interview?

I have a very important interview on Monday, and I am at a loss with what I should wear. What are they wearing in today's job market? I have not had an interview for a year and a half. Is a skirt or pants or suit better? My two ideas of what to wear are either pants and a blouse (boyfriends suggestion) or skirt and a gray turtleneck sweater. Any suggestions? Thorough answers would really be appreciated...thanks.

Well first impressions are what they go by on interviews...a good way to get an idea is victoriasecret.com and go to suit up that will give you what alot of people are wearing. I have attached 2 links below to help with your question. In general you want to look professional and mature. You can't go wrong with a business suit. The "skirt" suit is preferable but if you do not have a matching skirt and jacket go with the pants suit. If you do not have a suit, try a blouse and skirt. Skip the sweater. Go minimum on the makeup, perfume and jewelry. For shoes, I would suggest a low heeled pump with tan or skin tone sheer hose. Try everything on the day before the interview so their are no surprises. Remember, the key word for your attire is conservative.
